With the release of Monster Hunter Wilds just a fortnight away, Capcom has unleashed its official launch trailer, offering a tantalising peek into the perilous journey awaiting players in the Forbidden Lands.
The new footage showcases the dynamic and ever-shifting landscapes, hinting at the formidable challenges that lie ahead. Among the highlights are Jin Dahaad, the colossal apex predator ruling the Iceshard Cliffs, and a Rathalos shrouded in mystery, unlike any “King of the Skies” ever encountered.
Post-Launch
As always, Capcom are getting ahead of the game with their post-launch content. This is something they generally put a lot of time and effort into when it comes to a Monster Hunter release. Monster Hunter Wilds looks to be no different.
Capcom has big plans for Monster Hunter Wilds, with a continuous stream of post-launch content updates. Spring 2025 will see the arrival of the first major free Title Update, bringing with it the return of Mizutsune, the graceful Leviathan known for its mesmerising dance and immobilising bubbles.
But before then, hunters can look forward to Event Quests starting the week after launch. These special quests will offer the chance to earn unique armour as rewards.
Keep an eye out for more information on these limited-time quests and the other exciting content coming in free Title Update 1.

Pre-orders
Monster Hunter Wilds launches on PlayStation 5 with PS5 Pro Enhanced support, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. Pre-order now to snag the “Guild Knight Set” layered armour and “Hope Charm” Talisman as a special bonus. PlayStation Store pre-orders also include a Digital Mini Art Book.
As we’ll be playing on PC, it’s a shame to miss out on the Digital Mini Art Book, but thems the breaks! Seeing that Monster Hunter Wilds is going to be checking for World and Iceborne saved data for little additional perks is a nice touch, too.
We’d never advise to pre-order a game in 2025. But…….Monster Hunter is one of very few exceptions we make for ourselves. That said, performance concerns are rife in the community, and if you’re on the fence, we’d absolutely recommend holding-off until the game is out and reviews are out there.
The current build in the beta isn’t a good indicator of what’s going to happen and the benchmark tool will only really do so much. The proof of the pudding is in the eating, after all.
So let us take the hit for you on this one. We can report back quickly and honestly. Despite a love for the series and some hype kicking-in. It’s no good not understanding flaws and making sure people can be acutely informed.

All-in
Monster Hunter Wilds is 2 weeks from release and we’re all-in. We’ll give the open beta this weekend some more time, start taking notes to compare it to the release build and do what we can to bring useful, honest thoughts on it for you.
If the new player on-boarding is better than previous games, the potential for Wilds to be the biggest Monster Hunter game yet, is massive. But……lets not get ahead of ourselves.
We’re not anticipating ground-breaking story. But the flow of hunts/camp visits etc is likely to give you more time out doing the good stuff and it does look like Capcom learned the quality of life stuff they added with Palamutes. Our Seikret is going to be well travelled, for sure.
Will old-school fans think it’s changed too much? Probably. But that’s fine. Gatekeeping is a gamers’ perogative, after all. But we’re here for the new, as long as it adds and improves.
Lets gooooo!
